| Connecting Girls to STEM — Resources and Learning Strategies A Forum Sponsored by the CT Girls Collaborative Project April 5, 2010, 11:00 a.m.—3:00 p.m. Connecticut Science Center 250 Columbus Boulevard Hartford, CT 06103 Both formal and informal educators will value this free and unique opportunity to network with peers who support and create programs for girls in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) subjects. And if you haven’t seen the new science center yet, this is your chance! Schedule 11:00 Welcome 11:15 Panel discussion – panel of women scientists and engineers discuss their mentors, influences, work climate, challenges and solutions 12:30 Buffet lunch served 1:00-3:00 Workshops: ¨Resources and Learning Strategies for Middle School Girls ¨Family Engineering—a showcase of engineering activities to use with girls and tips on how to create a family engineering day in the community ¨How to Apply for our $1000 Mini-grants ¨Evaluating Your Program—Qualitative Measures to Gauge Outcomes 3:00-5:00 The Science Center will remain open for interested participants to browse or interact with the exhibits. Please register by March 29, 2010 after which you will receive an email inviting you to choose two of the four workshops.
